About Our Club

How We Started

The Southern Classic Camaros club was founded by roughly ten initial members in November of 2023 who all wanted more out of a car club. The interim group began to immediately work together to form a new car club in the Carolinas area (currently Charlotte, NC as our home base). From November 2023 until February 2024, this group of Camaro enthusiasts and owners met weekly to divide and conquer on all of the activities needed to officially establish the car club as a formal non-profit in the state of North Carolina. Through those meetings, it was determined that the club would consist of first, second, and third generation Camaros which were built from 1967 until 1992 though we do not limit membership only to Camaro owners. Southern Classic Camaros is an inclusive club that welcomes everyone including Camaro owners, automotive enthusiasts, and their family members alike.

Club Location

Our home base is in the Charlotte, NC area though we participate in events around the entire NC/SC greater Charlotte/Rock Hill metro areas.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to support the preservation and restoration of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation Camaros to include years 1967 – 1992 through a community of classic car enthusiasts. We endeavor to foster friendships and share our love of the classic Camaro while attending and contributing to charitable causes through fellowship, education and participation in club related events.

Our Purpose & Objectives

Southern Classic Camaros is dedicated to uniting people of all backgrounds who share a love for Camaro automobiles. We value honesty, fairness, integrity and respect for each individual club member and members’ families. This club is family oriented and promotes club activities that fulfill and demonstrate these principles in a safe and family-friendly manner. Our club supports and promotes safe, responsible behavior by its members at all public events, meetings or gatherings. This club does not condone or endorse street racing, burnouts, or exhibitions of speed at any club event. At a facility where activities like these are legally permitted, a club member may participate at their own risk.
